Updates...

So as I promised, here are the most recent updates to my life!

So we'll start with June 20th, 2008...As some of you may know, I was laid off from Miva (to be known from here on out as Miva'l - pronounced mi-val!!) after over 7 years of loyal service. Their reason - down sizing. The actual reason, the new "boss" is a jerk who doesn't know his head from a hole in the wall!! But that aside...we parted ways. For the last 3 1/2 months I have looked the country over for a job - there just aren't any jobs in my field around anywhere!! So I decided to take off and go up to GA to visit my parents since I hadn't seen them in like 7 months. While I was there, I decided to go to NY to visit Kelly for a couple weeks. (All the while looking for a new job anywhere I could find one!!) After almost 2 weeks in NY and being gone from my house for almost a month, I decided it was probably time to come home and face reality - whatever that was going to be. After almost 2 weeks of being home I received a call from a company I had sent my resume into while I was in GA - a company called Lee-Sar. I went in for my first interview a week ago today and I fell in love with the job and the environment and was actually VERY hopeful that I would be offered the position. The manager told me he'd be making a decision with in the week, so back to waiting. Two days later I received a phone call from him asking me to come back in for a second interview -things are looking up! I went in for the 2nd interview the next day and was offered the position. FINALLY!!!! So I start my new career tomorrow morning and I'm more nervous then I thought I would be. Heck, I haven't had to start a new job in almost 8 years!!!
As for Kelly and I, we found out that she will be getting deployed on Dec. 28th which sucks totally. I have no words for the sadness that this causes, but my profound proudness in her and what she does and our love makes things at least tolerable. I know that God will watch over her and all of our other troops during this time. So I'm just keeping the faith and waiting for her to come home.
Everything else is peachy. My 3 wonderful babies (the 4 legged kind!!) keep me busy. Yvette is still living with me and keeping me sane!! I'm still playing softball once a week even though the old knee keeps giving me issues - maybe I should get that fixed? - NAH!! It's more fun to complain about it!! I no longer coach any of the basketball teams I was coaching, but still have Zachary around to keep working with to make sure that he gets the scholarship he deserves and he keeps me on my toes - as most 15 year old boys will!!
I guess that's pretty much all for now...I'll let you all know how the job goes!!

(Oh and do me a HUGE favor - if you're going to leave a comment - leave your name so I can harass you, I mean, respond appropriately!!!)

Trav and I are so happy for you. How did your first week go? Has the transition been pretty smooth? We are sorry to hear that Kelly is being deployed. With your permission we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. We would really like to meet her sometime. Things are good in Superior; Trav loves the job and it is Fall. I am subbing and liking the flexibility. Maybe we will see you in Georgia some time? It has been forever since we have seen you and that should change. Take care and we hope the job goes well. Aub & Trav (his is reading this behind my back)
